Nancy Good

1932 ~ 2022 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Nancy Good

April 16, 1932 – December 17, 2022

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Nancy “Nana” Good at Grove Park Home, Barrie on Saturday, December 17, 2022.

She will be deeply missed by daughters Bonnie Bervoets (Kees Bervoets), Bobby Pike (Nancy Turner), Karen Kallahan, and Jeannie Martin (the late Bob Martin); grandchildren Jonathan Bervoets, Kat Bervoets (Dan Monkhouse), Lee Martin (Brad King), Emilie Brown (Christian Mueller) and great-grandchildren Avery Brown with twin girls expected any day.

Nancy was a devoted mother and Nana, who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Nancy had an incredible sense of humour and a sassy personality which she never lost.

She was born in Toronto in 1932 and later moved to Quebec City to start her family, during this time Nancy worked for the Chateau Frontenac, and later began a career as a ballroom dance instructor. In 1969, Nancy moved back to Toronto to continue raising her family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Grove Park Home, with a special thank you to Nancy “Nana’s” bestie Sarah, who took incredible care of her over the last three years and announced Nancy’s final exit by saying:

“Attention Grove Park, can you all please join us as we say goodbye to our dear friend Nancy Good as she exits Grove Park Home one last time, and join along as we play our babe's favourite song.” Nancy’s song was Skinnamarink by Sharon, Lois and Bram which was sung by the staff and Nancy’s family as she made her exit. This song will hold a special place in her family’s heart, as during virtual visits Nancy’s children would sing this to her before each call ended.

As per Nancy’s wishes, there will be no public service; memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.

Nancy will live in our hearts forever, and we know she’s dancing in Heaven watching over us.
